Hello everyone welcome to Slash IT, my name is Jared. This post will be much different from the others, simply because this is the introduction! I’ll be getting into what Slash IT is and what you can expect from future posts. The three different types of posts you will be seeing on here will be all horror-related. The first is news where I/future writers will be discussing horror movie news or anything horror-related (although mostly horror movies). Secondly, reviews will mostly consist of reviews of either older or newer movies and rated out of seven knives. Last but not least we have a section entitled “Other posts,” this section will include anything we write that won’t fit into either of the other two categories, Top tens, Retrospectives, ETC. So you don’t have to worry about wondering what the categories really mean I’ll be getting more into depth later on in this post, so make sure to read the specific category you have any questions on.

I’m going to start off by just describing what Slash IT was and what it’s going to become in the future. Slash IT was originally created as purely a YouTube channel where I would be posting about my love of horror movies. I made a few videos that set the idea for the types of videos that would be on the channel (they aren’t going anywhere but some of the series ideas I had will be posts on the website). However, I decided that just being a YouTube channel wasn’t what I envisioned, and wasn’t what I wanted for Slash IT. So after that point, I decided what I wanted was to make Slash it a multimedia company rather than just a channel where I posted videos. Therefore I started working on the website (which you are currently reading) to be the start of what Slash it is now and what it will become in the future. In the future, I have many ideas of what content Slash it will have in store for you. Many of the ideas are going to be kept secret for the time being until they’re announced at a later date but the ideas I can share but won’t give away too many details are, podcasts, special events, short scary stories, and many other ideas that won't be spoiled. Slash it will soon become your favorite one-stop website for videos, horror movie news, reviews, and everything in between. I have one more thing to say in this section before we dive a little deeper into the specific categories of posts you’ll be seeing here. I am interested in getting writers who are looking to have their short horror stories published on our website. If you might be interested, contact us using the contact form on the contact page and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

NEWS

The News page in Slash it will include any news posts that we upload to the website. The news posts will be about anything horror that is coming up, the main focus will be horror movies/TV so many horror games/books will be excluded from the posts. (for now maybe at a later date we will transition to games and books as well). We will be posting everything from brand new announced horror movies to changes in a currently in process movie. Anything from a director being changed to a new sequel may be being made. With anything like this, our policy on leaks will be as follows, We will always use the word LEAK in the title so you can skip if you so desire, Our leaks will try our best to find the most credible sources and if we can't find any certifiable credible sources we won’t post anything, certain leaks such as, full script leaks or twist leaks in any movie we won’t be reporting on due to spoiling anything for anyone. Those last two help create a more fun experience for everyone by ensuring a twist or spoiler won’t get ruined for someone. Also with the news, we will try our best to show where we are getting our information from no matter what kind of piece of news we are reporting on. The news sections of our post will end with a summarization of the total piece so if you are just wanting to get a quick understanding of the piece you can skip to the end. One final thing before we move on is that The news section will not be clickbait and what the title is, is the best for that specific piece.

REVIEWS

Reviews are a critical and important part of this website. We will be reviewing all kinds of movies not only up-and-coming movies, however, new movies will be of special importance to us because we want you to have the most unbiased and fair review of new movies. Our reviews will be rated out of seven “knives”. The reason the scale goes up to seven is because of how the scale is laid out, one through three is worthless to terrible to bad, four is okay and five through seven is good to great to excellent. By using the up to seven scale it makes the ratings make more sense and easier to follow than a by ten scale. Our reviews will give a very brief synopsis of the film but won’t spoil much other than just some general plot. We will however have some discussion on characters and the overall feeling and tones of the movie. The reviews will have as little biases as possible (it's impossible to be truly unbiased). Spoilers are something many reviews have just sprinkled throughout their reviews. Slash it is different because Spoilers will always be marked if there is anything that would change your experience going into it. If it's not in the trailer (big deaths, twists, etc) it's marked. The reviews are going to include movies from many moons ago for the people who haven’t seen it will be able to see if a certain movie they’re considering watching is worth it or not. I have a few more things to say before we move on, Once we have a few reviewers on staff, the reviews will be there untampered reviews of the film. For example, if John Doe liked Blood stab murder 4 and he rated it a six out of seven, that is John Does viewpoint entirely which may not be Jane smiths view who would rate it a 3 out of ten, and for this reason and this reason entirely you may see multiple reviews of the same movie, this is to make sure you are getting the full scope of what makes a certain movie good or bad.

OTHER POSTS

This is the wild west of our website. This is where anything that doesn't fit into the other categories will go. This will be anything from announcements, short stories, special events like fundraisers ETC. Our announcements will have the acronym ANN: in front of them so you can easily identify what is an announcement amongst the many other posts that flood the section. Short stories on the other hand will simply be the title of the short story. Some stories that are slightly longer will release in chapters one at a time. The short stories will either be written in-house by us or someone will let us publish their own original work onto our website. Those will be properly credited and made sure that you know they are not our original work. Our special events will entirely depend on what exactly the event is, But the titles of those will start with SE: so you can easily identify what the special event posts are. All the other posts that wouldn’t fit into a certain category will have just the title of what they are. This section will be the most intriguing because it will include things like top tens, retrospectives, anything that isn’t news or a review will go into this category.
