If you haven’t seen the first Escape Room. While it is slightly reminiscent of the Saw franchise, it still brings in a whole different terrifying element. Everyone receives these Rubik's cube-type blocks and once they solve them it tells them to go to this escape room. This escape room isn’t like all of them. Once it begins you are actually in a fight for your life. Our characters have to escape from each different room, and only one of them can actually survive to the end. I think while this movie wasn’t the best of all time, it did bring a certain factor that a lot of movies don’t have. That was the way it perfectly balanced the line between being scary and bringing the horror genre to the PG:13 rating. I’m happy to announce that the sequel Escape Room Two has also officially gotten the PG:13 rating. While there isn’t much known about the plot, I can only assume it’s similar to the original at its core. I think while the original laid the foundation, they could potentially make this much scarier the second time around. There was a very obvious ending to the first movie that directly set up a sequel in a way that was honestly pretty cheesy but it did what it was intending to do. Hopefully, with this second film, they’re able to make it not so cheesy but instead scary; hopefully, it has a more satisfying ending than the previous movie. Another thing I am happy to tell you is that the movie now has an officially and hopefully unchanging release date. On July 16th, 2021, the movie will premiere. It was originally April 17th, 2020 which got changed to January 7th, 2022, and now July 16th, 2021. So if you’ve seen any of those other dates the July date is now the official one. Well, that’s all the information that’s currently out there. Stick around for all things horror and follow us on Twitter and Instagram, @slashithorror.
