“The Conjuring'' is a franchise that while it’s based in reality, feels fake and a little over the top at times. However, these movies are incredibly well shot and terrifying when they try to be. The first “Conjuring” movie is based on a real-life case of the Warrens and so is the second. The third film is a little different. This movie is based on the trial of Arne Cheyenne Johnson. She claimed that she was innocent because she was possessed by a demon. This is the case that is potentially the most controversial that the Warrens have ever been a part of. While on a virtual press tour for the movie, director James Wan (Saw, Insidious) said that this film was the darkest of the “Conjuring” franchise. While who knows exactly what that means, he could have been referencing the case just based on its nature. This movie comes out June fourth, 2021, and is just one of the many horror movies that will be released in the latter half of this year.
