Hey, my name is Jared, and welcome to Slash it. When George Romero died back in 2017, it felt like a punch in the gut. George was an absolute legend of filmmaking that spawned the subgenre of films, games and books of zombies. Zombies were not what we think of now, they were mostly people who had curses put on them. When “Night of the Living Dead” came out and became incredibly classic, zombies meant what zombies mean to this day. After “Night of the Living Dead”, George Romero went on to release six sequels to this film. He was working on a film entitled “Twilight of the Dead'' at the time of his unfortunate passing. This movie would have been his love letter to the zombie genre that he spawned many years ago. That’s when it was announced that his wife would be helping some screenwriters work on this film and make sure it stayed true to Georges’ original vision. While the plot and synopsis of this movie are currently unknown I do believe that with Romero's love for zombies that he would only have a really good plot to mark his last film. There was another film entitled “Road of the Dead” that would have predated “Twilight of the dead” but from the fact that I haven’t heard any news about it I don’t know for sure if it’s still in development or not. I know that regardless of what “Road of the Dead” is, it will be worth it for consumers of zombies media to wait and see what exactly these two movies have in store for us.
